If it works on no PC at all, it's broken.

Then your choices are:
- accept the loss
- contact a data recovery company for a quote for recovery. That won't be free and it's possible they can't recover anything.

Some people learn about the necessity of making backups too late. It's a hard lesson then.
It seems you're one of them.

No back-up???

The flash drive probably died because of improper handling or ESD(static) damage. The fact you used this and no other source to store your precious data, you didn't have a back-up plan. Sorry, but there isn't much *YOU* can do now. A data recovery service is the best option if you have the $. Otherwise any attempt by using user recovery s/w freebie or trialware or buying s/w may work if possible if no physical damage of the flash drive. All attempts to user retrieve data may cause further problems.

In some case a small component has fallen off inside the USB case. What a recovery service does is remove the "memory" and then access data to retrieve. -OR- it fixes any easy h/w fault and retrieves. -OR- yet again uses any specialized apparatuses and does it in its proprietary means. Nowe, you know why its so expensive.
