there are many different ways to flash the bios. It all depends upon the device. It also is something you should not do unless the update actually is a fix for a feature you need. It is not something you should do just because there is an update out there. Any mistakes while flashing the bios could result in an expensive brick since in a lot of cases, it cannot be reverse.

I always defer to the maker's site and instructions.

Anyone that risks advising other than doing it the maker's way, well they often learn a lesson as the people that asked them to fix their bricked devices.
