First-Time Computer Building

Jun 29, 2005 4:02AM PDT

I am on a budget, but I'm not a gamer and will only use the computer for video/cd burning and just general internet use. I do multitask often and I was wondering if these pieces are suitable to my needs. Will there be compatibility issues? I'd appreciate some help Happy

your mobo supports upto pc2700 so i would stick with that. get 512MB x 2 of pc2700 ram.

other than that, enjoy your build Wink

Change a little... add a little

I would go with regular sized ATX Motherboard. You just might need the extra space. And I would add a hard drive for all your photos, music, downloads, reference material and the like. It's also good to use it to mirror your C: drive if it should fail. Everything else will serve you quite well and for a few years. But, trust me, you'll want to build another one within the year <grin>.

And life goes on...

looks great to me

have fun with it

if you want some more power with video editing consider a Pentium 4, and if you stil want more powe consider a Pentium D

but that'd be great, a little over kill, but generally great for what your planning to do with it

LED's are BAD!!!
Jul 4, 2005 7:08PM PDT

This PC looks fine except for one minor detail....
Led's are flashy yes, but in order for vendors to put those cool little lights and keeps costs affordable, they generally tend to skimp on the rest of the product. For instance, a Case fan or a CPU Fan that has an LED built in will have an inferior bearing in it. If you want the flashy, go with a cool blue light for the interior of your case, not one built into a component.
