First Gaming Laptop Suggestions

by nrubashov / August 24, 2013 9:38 AM PDT

Hey guys,

Apologies for the newness and my limited knowledge on the subject but here it goes.

Im a beginner in non-console/laptop gaming due to my lack of a legitimate computer with a capacity to run any decent games in a reasonable fashion. Now that I have the funds to purchase one, my occupation and school will require me to move frequently.

So I decided on a gaming laptop and I need some serious advice as to where/what to buy. I live in Canada if that helps. The following is what I am looking for (with my little knowledge of laptop gaming)

$ 1200

What I dont care about:
Sound quality (to a reasonable degree)

What I want:
Ability to run games within reason (nothing crazy like bioshock infinite at 1000 fps, athighest resolution)
pretty good graphics
good cooling
Use it for work as well** important point here <

Im a beginner, looking for a good gaming laptop with above budget and specs. Suggestions anyone?

Everything is appreciated.

For about that amount you can find the Lenovo y500 and it has various configurations, the Haswell and made CNETs best gaming list.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
