What is durability? Keep in mind that the batteries tend to fade out in 18 to 24 months. Another poster wanted the laptop to take "abuse". That said, I've yet to see the makes you listed not get 3 plus years of use at the office. But the batteries are often 15 minute wonders by then.
As to usability, they all run the same OS so they all look and act pretty much the same. Can you supply an example of where such fails usuability?
Since you are leaving the country you bought it in, you'll want one with an international service network. HP and IBM gets my nod for this.
Hope this helps and in closing... Your question is very much like others in this forum. Have you read them?

Hi All,
I'm about to buy my first computer, I travel a lot so I want a thin and light laptop. I plan to do basic email, minor word, and Photoshop. I'm mainly in need of a way to process my Digital photos. I have done some research and have narrowed it down to three. Acer 3201xci, Fujitsu Lifebook S2610, and dell 600m. From what I've learned it seems I need a 1,5-1.6ghz HD, 60mb, and 512mb. An enhanced screen would be nice? My original price limit(not in stone) was 1500. making the Acer my choice so far. It's hard to spend this kind of money without being able to actaully touch and use the mac hine first!
Being that I'm new at this and travel, usability and durability are very important. Also company support if a problem occurs. I'm off to Thailand next month to teach ESL. I'm looking for opinions and advice about these machines and companies. Thanks Much, Cheers, Jim.
