first build of my own computer

Hi i am going to college next year and wanted to build my own computer. This is my first time and i wanted some help in picking out the products i need. I want this computer for gaming as well as being able to do school work on it because i am going for mechanical engineering. I want to stay in between $1000 and $1500. So far this is what i have laid out.

Copy what others have built. The article is full of good stuff to know and there's even a cheaper model which is less than half your budget.
