Firmware ver.2003.2: I lost content menu

by el_ricko / November 2, 2008 10:44 PM PST

Hi,
I've just bought a new Samsung LN40A750. My first, move was to explore the menu. After one day, I decided to upgrade the firmware. I used ver.2003.2. Since the upgrade, I don't have access to the "content" menu. When I try to access it. the screen goes black.

My question is:
How do I go back to the manufacturer firmware?
OR
Which firmware I should use to get this problem solved?

Thanks

In reply to: Canadian firmware?

Yes, there is a difference between the U.S. and Canadian firmware.

Do not install that firmware then.

I have seen this reported elsewhere on C|Net, and I will be working on getting a fix for that in the next couple of days. Hang tight.

2003.2 Firmware Canada LNXXA750

In reply to: Canadian Firmware?

I noticed that the firware page was gone completely from the Canadian site for a few days, but a revised version 2003.2 was posted today. I installed and all seems to be working fine as far as the content library is concerned. It is a very large file (more than 200 MB) which is about 10 times larger than the other firmware updates I've seen, so be patient with downloading and upgrading on your set.

Cheers,

Dave

Service Menu - not "Hidden".
by Samsung_HD_Tech Samsung staff / November 11, 2008 11:01 AM PST

Please, you guys are killing me here. Happy

It's a service menu, for the express purpose of a qualified and trained Service Technician only. If you choose to read that post, at least read my post responding to it before following that advice.

If you do NOT know WHAT you are fixing, and WHY and HOW you are fixing it and the results of selecting service menu options, DON'T DO IT.

I can't stress this enough, and every post mentioning it, I will respond to with the same advice.
