Firmware update for Samsung UE32D5520

I have just purchased a Samsung UE32D5520 LED TV in the UK. It's a great picture, and the iPlayer works well.

UE32D5520 blacking out screen on HD live broadcasts.

I have the same TV with the flashing black screen on HD broadcasts from CH4 HD, BBC1 HD and ITV HD. I have added an attenuator to reduce the digital signal strength but this has not helped the issue. It is fine on non HD content freeview but on all the HD channels you get the blacking out of picture for probably half a second, the period between flashes is very random and can be every 10 seconds to 3 or 4 minutes between flashing. There is no correlation and it is really upsetting for a new HDTV to have these issues. I have contacted the sellers but they cant add any advice.I live within 5 miles of the TV transmitter and have hence added the attenuator to reduce signal strength to 95%.

I registered my Samsung TV on their website and after that a link appeared to download version 1019 of the firmware. It seems to have done the trick - fingers crossed, no more black flashing at the moment.

Thanks I have done what you suggested and it has fixed the flashing of the screen. I have checked other posts on other forums and it seems like the issue is caused by the broadcasters signal switching between 1080 and 1080i during the broadcasts. The firmware update must stop the switching process somehow within the tvs electronics. I had a problem initially with the tv not recognising the usb stick that I had put the firmware update onto. When the firmware is downloaded it must not be transfered to the stick within a folder, ie for it to recognise the extracted firmware programs they must be copied direct to the usb and not in a file within another file.Im sure there must be hundreds of people with this issue, its a shame Samsung have not made dealers aware of this issue because I have already exchanged one tv thinking it was faulty. There must be a flood of tv's on their way back to dealers and distributers nationally.

If the broadcast is switching, then it's going to need to rebuffer and connect, and that would be an issue with the App, rather than the hardware.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
