Firmware Samsung DVD-1080P9

Cesco88,

With most firmware updates, the file you have downloaded must be launched, and that should launch Nero into the correct CD writing process. If you continue to have a problem getting this to work, I might suggest calling the Samsung customer service center in your region.

Firmaware

Thanks for reply,
unfortunately I already tried to call tech support but they were very naughty and I was dismissed, telling me that I had to go into a service center 60 km from my house.
However if I double click on the file leaves me the error: "the size of the block does not match the length of the image. Probably wrong size. Correct the error or ignore?"
What I have to click? Ignore or fix?

Same problems...
Feb 11, 2010 5:53PM PST

I had the same problem. The upgrade.ver file is missing in the zip file. I found one on the net within another upgrade for an older model and that worked. However before that and still going on I have several problems like freezing the player, no connection with my Samsung LCD etc etc. You can read several forums about the same problems. Samsung doesn't reply. (NL) I don't want to call their expensive number for a newly bought player. So I'll return this one.
I tried 2, but both same problem. What strikes me is the answer above from a Samsung guy above. Instead of checking the upgrade file you have to call them... I wrote Samsung about the missing upgrade file but no answer. Thanks god for other brands!

Where did you find it?

Where did you find the firmware update? Samsung says there isn't one and to "check back later" to see if there will be one. Very unhelpful.

Please fix the file
Jul 12, 2010 4:50AM PDT

Dear Samsung_HD_Tech,

As reported by others on this forum and on various other forums, an essential file is missing from the zip file: upgrade.ver
Your upgrade manual tells us to burn both BUILD.IMG and UPDATE.VER, but since Samsung obviously forgot to include the second file, this is impossible.
Please include UPDATE.VER in FM/201002/20100201092135234/BUILD_090810.10.B.1080P9XEG.zip
Your suggestion of calling the local customer service center simply won't fix this.

just do that !

"UPDATE.VER" contains just the name of the firmware file
(like a command line...)
So :
open your notepad,
type the name of the firmware (ex : build.img if your firmware file is named build.img)
...and save as "UPDATE.VER"
That's all folks !
(... and follow the Zoran_Upgrade_Process_Manual...")
i 've just do it with my samsung 1089p9 and it's fine.

Hello,
Where I can get the firmware image file?
I`m trying to find it on the Samsung web site but I can see only User Manual files.

Thanks!

Hi,
The UPDATE.VER file is there, but no firmware image file. Where can I download it?

Thanks!
