Fireworks Freezes

My Fireworks application will not open on my Mac OSX iBookG4. my computer is completely updated in software, is running flash and dreamweaver no problem. i tried taking all macromedia software off my mainframe (even the invisible macromedia files in fireworks and all the other applications too) and reinstalling, as well as running disk utilities. yet i always get the message that the program has unexpectedly quit. any ideas?

Has the Fireworks application EVER run correctly on your ibook? Is available RAM an issue here? I'm not sure that taking stuff off the "mainframe" is going to help your laptop computer, unless you are confusing the term.
Have recently added, or removed, anything from the iBook?

Help!!! Same problem!!!

I am having exactly the same problems with Fireworks on my iBook. I get the same error message prior to the startup screen, and then it just quits.I have tried resolving this issue for the past four months without any success. Fireworks worked fine on my G3s, but not on my G4. All my other MX2004 apps work fine on my iBook. I have tried reinstalling Fireworks several times after doing an un-install of all Fireworks related and hidden files. I miss Fireworks, as it works seamlessly with Dreamweaver, and I am not much of a Photoshop fan.

As you can see, there was no response from the original poster. Either they solved the problem or decided to live without Fireworks.
Have you considered talking with the software manufacturer?

I finally had to take everything off my computer and rebuild my drive. it works fine now. i have no idea what caused the problem. a friend mentioned that having third party apps could have contribted to it.

That sounds like a neat trick

what is involved in doing that?
What would your friend classify as a third party app??

Glad you got it working though
