Question

FireWire 400 to 800 to Thunderbolt!

Dec 19, 2012 9:00AM PST

I just got a MacBook Pro, 10.8.2, going straight from an old 2006 G5 iMac PowerPC 10.4.11- thereby jumping up 4 systems!

I use an M-Audio FireWire solo. I still have the 400 cable. I can't spend much! Would it be best to buy a 400 to 800 cable, then into a 8--/Thunderbolt adapter? i realize that it ain't gonna be as fast, but until I can cough up $$$ for a new one, I can only use this interface.

Thanks!!

If this was going to find a "SOLVED" post that forum would have it. I know a few Apple owners and they know to get firewire machines if that's what they want. I've yet to see such on a non-firewire Apple added later except for the Mac Pro desktops.
