Firefox's Temp folder

Sep 23, 2004 10:39AM PDT

For IE, there's a 'temp' folder which stores all the data you received from the net so the next time when you visit the page again, the speed of viwing will be more faster.

i'm just wondering if there's a folder for firefox that works the same?

thanks for the help, anyway, i went through all the folders you said, but when i finally reach the Cache folder, inside isn't like IE's. Instead of many images and datas that were received from the interent, there's only files that cannot be open, those files are all in numbers.

Yep, that's the temp folder, the one that says cache...

it doesn't save in the same way as IE. It also doesn't keep the cookies the same way either, it keeps all cookie data in 1 file instead of a cookie file for each cookie.

You can change the cache location easily. Enter "about:config" in the address bar and hit Enter. Then enter "cache" in the Filter box. You should see something similar to the following:

browser.cache.disk.parent_directory user set string Z:\FF_CACHE

Note, on my machine, I've placed the cache in a Ramdisk.

While you're in about:config, there're tons of tweaks possible. For example:

browser.bookmarks.file user set string D:\Programs\Internet\Netscape\defaults\profile\bookmarks.html

enables a common FF/NS bookmarks file.
