Firefox and Internet Explorer are not working

Jun 25, 2017 1:23PM PDT

I have Chrome on my computer and is works well. I also have Internet Explorer and Firefox. As of a few days ago both Internet Explorer and Firefox don't work. They come up with blank screens but don't respond to searches. This is on Windows 7. (By the way, I have run Malwarebytes (the paid version) and CCleaner). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

install anything prior

install anything just prior to the problem whether it be an addon/app/security software? you can always reset the browser to default and see if it helps. or you can do a system restore to a restore point just prior to when the problems started. finally you can go into safemode with network and see if they work there. if so, it is some third party issue.

Yep, I'd Start By Re-setting IE and Firefox

For example, to re-set Internet Explorer, open the Control Panel-Internet Options-Advanced tab. Then click on the "reset" button. Resetting the browser takes it's back to its original state without all the plugins and addones.

If it works, then a bad "addon" was installed and it's affecting them both. To reset Firefox, click on "Help" in the upper left, choose "Troubleshooting Information", then click on the "Refresh" button.

Hope this helps.

Firefox.....start small

Firefox>help>restart with add-ons disabled.
If that fixes your problem then you have an add-on problem.
If not, move up to the refresh firefox.

Restart and reinstall latest version
Jun 25, 2017 11:03PM PDT

You can try one "revo Uninstaller" to uninstall both and then restart your PC. Download a new version of Internet Explorer and Firefox, reinstall after restarting it.
One more thing, save all of your bookmarks if useful.
Try once! Hope it works!

This Won't Work
Jun 26, 2017 9:10AM PDT

It appears like maybe you haven't actually tried your suggestion.

First, Revo Uninstaller won't uninstall Internet Explorer because it's basically part of Windows in most countries. On the other hand, IE can be disabled and then re-enabled in the Control Panel-Programs and Features-Turn Windows Features On or Off, but it's easier and safer to simply re-set it.

In regards to Firefox, uninstalling, then re-installing Firefox doesn't actually remove the Firefox Profile user data and settings for each user. The entire Profile needs to be removed or refreshed to eliminate some of the bad stuff that can cause problems. So, although reinstalling might help if the program is actually corrupted, the Profile and all remnants need to be removed also.
