Question

Firefox 17

Dec 3, 2012 4:06AM PST

I have a brand new computer with windows 8 and would like to know why Firefox 17 is so slow to load a web page from a search. IE 10 is fast with no problems and Chrome is also fast. Firefox was fast when 1st loaded then after several days boom, slow.

Answer
Firefox 17 works fine for me

I have Firefox 17 on my 5 home computers and the 28 I support, and I haven't seen the degradation you describe. First I think I'd uninstall then reinstall Firefox. Then I'd boot to Safe Mode and do a full system scan for viruses because Firefox shouldn't be slower that IE for the majority of things.

Thank you for the reply but there are no viruses what so ever on my computer. I am running Windows 8 with IE-10 and it is not slow as previous versions. I had the problem before on previous versions of FF. I have Norton security from Comcast and have run all scans including Norton Power Eraser and I also have Advanced System Care Pro and no viruses were detected.
