Firefox

A while back I tried Firefox, thunderbird and eventually went back to IE and OE. The problem that I am encountering now is when I clock on certain websites and various favorites, Firfox opens, even though I have deleted it from my computer. Has any one else ever had this type of problem?
Thanks.

Delete or uninstall?
May 10, 2005 11:07AM PDT

Delete - major problems. If you just deleted the folder, reinstall it and then uninstall it.

If you uninstalled it, do a little registry hacking. Open the registry with Start, Run, regedit. With the cursor, highlight, My Computer. Click file, export. Save a copy of the registry to the HD in the root directory.

Now, click Edit, Find. Enter Mozilla (yes, that's correct) and search. Delete every value you find. Now, do a search on Netscape (Yes, that's correct) and do the same. Now, look for Firefox and delete.

This should fix the problem.

Good luck,

Why?

Why would you want to get rid of Firefox and use IE? For most people, it's the other way around.

I have followed your instructions and I still get Firefox trying to open when I click various links, and or programs. I am going to try to reinstall and then uninstall in the event that I didn't uninstall to begin with. Will report back. Thanks.
