I am trying to find anyone that may have had experience
using the microsoft finger print reader model DG2-00002
Good, bad, recommend?

Since hardware (and fingers) tend to fail or get lost such as this, they provide a password to get around the thumbscan.

We've demo'd such at the office but never use it.
