Finding IP Address

I want to find the ip address from a sender on gmail? I know that you go to "Show Original" but I do not know from where you go from there. Can someone please help me?
Thank you

What email client?

Sorry, but I just looked at gmail.com web mail's interface and didn't find the show original button.

-> Just FYI, the original IP does not help track email if I want it to be hidden. I'd spoof the email and send it from a WIFI hotspot if I wanted to avoid being found out.

Cheers,

Bob

Does Google mask IP addresses of Gmail users?

I would still like to try too.

The message was sent to Hotmail from Gmail, but in message headers I can only see "sender IP is 74.125.82.44" - but that is Google's address.

Does Google mask the IP addresses of its users? Hotmail does so.

Thank you!

Looked here and

The first IP address is the first email server, not the user's IP.

HOWEVER, we know that governments track more than this. Read about what happened to Lavabit.
