On the subject of Cleaning,

don't go there.
There is an application called Onyx which will do what you want but, OS X also has its own built in cleaning process which runs in the small hours of the morning.

Twice had problems after it ran necessitating DiskWarrior rebuild. Maybe the Leopard one is good now. Still, I would prefer TinkerTool System (paid, not free Tinker Tool).
