They had an app called something like "SAMSUNG Drivers Update Utility" with a trailing number on some versions. This can derail folk used to hunting down drivers.
I found I must connect with Ethernet for it to work.

The stock hard drive in my Samsung NP-XQX411-A01UB failed recently, and I bought a new hard drive (Western Digital) to replace it. I have a system recovery CD, which let me install Windows7 just fine... but a slew of drivers are missing. There was no second disc with such things as some people have suggested. And I've been on the Samsung website looking at the list of drivers available to download.. but a) they don't match the list my laptop gives of missing drivers and b) they are all listed for Windows XP, not Windows 7.
So what to do? The laptop itself won't get on the internet until drivers are installed, so I can't try auto updates yet. And just directing me at the list DOES NOT HELP. I've googled this already, and I need a clearer answer.
Here's the list my computer gives of what is needed:
PCI Simple Communications Controller
SM Bus Controller
Network Controller
Ethernet Controller
Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
Which drivers do I download then? NONE of the downloads listed on the Samsung website are clearly matches for what my laptop says it needs.
