Find songs by digital fingerprint AND edit file details

by jackcatholic / April 21, 2011 3:43 AM PDT

It may be better to explain what I don't want in order to elicit a more accurate response. What I don't want is something that identifies the song and edits/corrects the metadata which shows up in the media player rather than the file details themselves. Is there anything that listens to the file, then edits the file details rather than just the metadata shown in the player? I tried TuneUp and it didn't work like I was hoping because it made no change to the actual file in its file location.

Thanks in advance

Just wondering.

When I rip a CD or get such from amazon's MP3 store, all this works great.

How did the data get lost?

Copying from a CD

It got lost when I copied it to backup CDs that didn't transfer the file data I think. I'm not completely sure to be honest. I have already begun trashing many of the files and reriping them from original CDs that I have but as you can imagine, it takes a long time.

So I have to go through each and every file > properties > Details and edit each field itself?
