to bad its overpriced

In reply to: Finally announced: Apple iPhone!!

although its going to be on GSM(a big plus) and for cingular, cingular's not even sure it will discount the phone with service not to mention apple has never built a cell phone before it will be like the newton and fail for being extremely overpriced for what it does(the slvr which does the same thing s 39.99 with a two year contract). I'd prefere to not be one of those fools who two years ago seriously thought between a razr and a treo/blackberry.

are you kidding?

In reply to: Finally announced: Apple iPhone!!

I hardly think a smartphone/music player with those sorts of capabilities is overpriced at $499 retail (w/o a service plan). Shoppers in this country are just so used to carriers subsidizing new phones that people have it in their heads that these things (which are basically little computers) really only cost twenty bucks to design/manufacture/market.

No, he's not.

In reply to: are you kidding?

If you hardly think a locked smartphone/music player with those sorts of capabilities is overpriced at $499 retail you must have no idea of the average price of a Windows Mobile 5 phone. I find it very funny how the same people that consider ridiculously exagerated to pay $300 for an OS like Vista that took 5 years to develope are willing to pay $500 for a locked phone; any Windows Mobile 5 smartphone surely doesn't cost that much less than iCopiedPhone to design/manufacture/market and doesn't cost half of that

499 looks inline when compared to other units. OLED display?

In reply to: Finally announced: Apple iPhone!!

I looked at other smart phones and they pricey w/o a plan so there's no issue there.

Is that an OLED display on that unit?

Apple versus Samsung

In reply to: Read this story

I found it really weird that Apple released the phone under the "iPhone" name considering that we all knew it was Samsung's trademark. When they announced the name I thought surely they must have worked something out already... why would they do that unless they had already covered these bases? Seems bizarre to me.

Incredible

In reply to: Finally announced: Apple iPhone!!

Wow, that new Iphone looks amazing.. Happy

I can't wait to check one out.. Happy

Honestly, I don't think think it's overpriced at all considering what some people are being charged for Nextel phones... compared to those it's a steal...
