Final Cut Express HD V 3.5.1 Wont launch in Finder

by bspark2008 / October 19, 2008 1:06 PM PDT

I have been using FCE HD for many months now and all of a sudden for some reason it will not launch. It goes thru the launch cycle and briefly appears in the finder but then disappears. I have no idea why! I have a G5 running OSX V 10.4.11. I have tried deleting the FCE and reloading but the same thing happens. Is this one of those great updates that got loaded and screwed up my program? Anyone got any ideas???
My other programs launch and open but not my FCE. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Repair Disk Permissions

It's a quick process that often achieves results.

Also, take a look at the Console logs. You will find Console in Applications > Utilities.
You should see a crash log and a log for FCE. It may give you a pointer as to what is wrong.

One of the most common causes of this problem is corrupt preferences. Deleting the application does not delete the preferences. You should find them in HD > Users > Yourname > Library > Preferences.
Just delete them, a new copy will be made when you launch FCE again.

Good Luck

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
