Files lost while on autoplay.

Sep 20, 2007 9:06PM PDT

This is a repost from "Computer Help" where I was not getting responses. LINK.

I would now be more interested in the second part, i.e. how to prevent autoplay from scanning the disk, bearing in mind that the external disk would have ti be plugged in to different computers, meaning that the drive letter would be different. Do I put in a "configuration file" ? Thanks.

While we can disable AUTOPLAY...

My line of attack on this is to find what could have happened and turn that off. Even with AUTOPLAY or AIN disabled WMP could still rearrange files and cause such an issue.

Sorry if my line of thought was not what you wanted or needed but I do try to find the real issue at times.
