i have lost space and i am sure i have extras junk from programs i have uninstalled. i have run ccleaner but no difference. does anyone know of a good free program that can clean out extra junk. thank you.

Look at restore point & recycle bin allocations

Restore points use a fair amount of hard drive space. You could reduce the amount of space it uses at the expense of not being able to go back as far in case you'd need to. The same is true for the recycle bin. I assume you're familiar with the disk cleanup ability in the Windows Explorer.

restore points as you said they use alot of space. where can i find them on a acer laptop aspire e-15 ? and can i delete the oldest ones and leave he most recent one?

there is an addon for ccleaner called ccenhancer. It will go through programs ccleaner does not do. use with care

as previously mention, ccleaner is one of the best out there. it will get most of your temporary files. Your restore points will give back some space, uninstall programs you never use will also help. there are some malware that will fill fill your drive. you may want to do some scanning using your antivirus and a companion utility such as malwarebytes.

i use ccleaner but the added piece you talk about is a little more then i really feel good about using. i use avast free, and melwarebytes cleaner, and "advanced care 8 but i was told it is really not the best to use." any help you offer i thank you.
