filepicker needs to close

by dlbeswick / January 21, 2006 12:51 AM PST

I have a homebuilt XP Pro P4 1.7 system with 1024 memory and two 80-Gb harddrives. I have a CD burner and a DVD burner and I make music CDs for myself from CDs that I have purchased (I'm not doing any pirating). I also download photos from the internet to make labels for my CDs (celebs, scenes, occasionally a babe). I browse with Firefox and sometimes IE6. Starting a few days ago, I lost the ability to download photos through either browser. If I right click on a photo and click save I get a message that filepicker needs to close, or the browser just shuts down and I'm back on my desktop. It will not allow me to download anything. Same thing on either browser. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox without and results. I ran a search for filepicker and didn't find anything. I also tried inserting the XP Pro disc but couldn't find anything useable. How can I fix this?
