I have a P4, 1.6 with a 40gb FAT32 partitioned hard drive. Can I convert both files systems to NTFS? How is it done?
Thanks

If you do have Windows Xp, you can boot with the cd rom and reformat both, but that will erase everything on the drive. You can also format just the one with windows installed on it using the disk management tools in windows xp, as long as you don't have anything you want on that drive, or have it backed up. Alternatively, you could use a program such as Partition Magic 8 which can do the job without erasing all of your information. It is a little pricy ($70) and there are cheaper alternatives, or you can download the demo version, which can do everything the full version can do (for 30 days or so) from the Powerquest Website.
Good luck

The article [Q307881] describes how to convert a FAT16 or FAT32 volume to NTFS.
