File sharing issue with windows vista on a LAN network

Hello,
I have one vista m/c and two XP machines connected on a LAN network. I have turned on all file and printer sharing. All the 3 machines are visible in the network. Here is the network configuration...

DSL ---Router (dlink 604)
.........|
.........|--------Vista
.........|
.........|--------XP (XP1)
.........|
.........|--------switch (Wireless router dlink 524 w/o DHCP)
....................|
....................|========XP (XP2 wirelessly connected)

The XP (XP1 -XP2) machines can share files with each other.
XP1 and Vista can sharefiles with each other.

However XP2 and Vista can not share files. Something is amiss with the switch which is basically a router without DHCP.

When all of they are directly connected to the same router then there is no issue.

So can you (the networking experts) tell me what I am missing in the switch (converted from a router) which is preventing file and printer sharing between Vista and XP2 machine here?

XP Vista file sharing

Yes, I don't see any problem in the setup itself (in conformance with post 17) and as I mentioned before the two XP m/c can share files without any issue. It is only between the vista and the Xp computer which is connected through another switch (converted from a wireless router).

It must be something in the converted switch that prevents the file sharing with Vista. When I connect this XP machine directly to the router (bypassing the switch) then the problem goes away.

I was just trying to figure out what it is or else I just have to get rid of this converted switch from my network.
Thx

I have to ask if anyone enabled AP or CLIENT ISOLATION in any device or machine.

We have issues with setups not per our forum sticky but the details are so slim I can't tell if you use WEP or not.
