File migration to new T6212

May 22, 2005 8:25AM PDT

I just bought an emachines T6212, which I have already posted about with some comments. I am dirt poor so very cheap! I have 21 gig of video/music files on a slave drive on my old, but still working PC.
Short of spending $60 on Intellimover, is there an "easy" way to transfer those files to my new rig?
The old machine has Windows XP W/Athlon XP2000+ and 512 MB of PC133 memory. Any suggestions guys and gals?...Happy

via a network connection or flashdrive. If you know what you're doing, connect the old harddrive to your new computer, the emachines has drive bays for more than one.

here's what I did

I was in pretty much the same situation. I went to Radio Shack. they have a USB to USB connector that comes with software. You install the software on both computers and VOILA, u can point and drag files from computer to computer. I was running one 1.1 usb and one 2.0 usb. It was a lil slow but transfered everything perfectly. It's around $40, but Radio Shack's return policy is pretty forgiving. hint hint
