Question

file management problem

Feb 28, 2018 4:40PM PST

Can someone kindly help? I have been pulling my hair out for a year trying to accomplish something in Windows 7.

If I have 2 external USB drives (Drive A and Drive B) and they both have loads of files and folders on them (each with mostly very different files and folders), how can I find out what specific files are on Drive B, but not on Drive A?.....and where they are on B.

This seems like something people who have a lot of drives with backed up data on them, would want and it seems there ought to be an easy way to accomplish it.

Thanks in advance for any help. Bob

To me that sounds like a custom app.

Even if we dare mention DUPLICATE FILE FINDERS you still have to wade through them all.

Thanks. Yeah, I use duplicate finders often, but they do the opposite task.

It looks like WinMerge may be the solution. Gotta try in the next few days. Thanks!
