Clarification Request
What backup system is this?

From history we know to avoid using Microsoft supplied backups. Maybe some file sync system is what you are looking for? I use any of the following for that.

Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier.
SyncBack (LE?)

I also use FileZilla but how to sync seems to elude some.

I've used EaseUS ToDo Backup since 2010 (free ware version) and love it - I set it up to do backups automatically. For a incremental backup i select the monthly "incremental backup " . It will backup what I setting . When needed, I restore individual files.
