Yes. It has something like a 50-mile radius- great for places that are not served by cable or dsl. There is also a lot of work in the area of municipal WiFi. I don't know if this will address WiMax as well.

I thought that's what Google was up to with their WiFi hotspot experiment. Will they ever light that Fiber?
