Question

Fewer apps using Win accessibility set'g?

Jun 30, 2011 6:39PM PDT

Many 3-party SW progrms come up very hard on my poor eyes!! R RoboForm & Registry.Mech no longer compatable with Win7 High Contrast display mode? Who changed? They used 2b viewable in VISTA fine! NOW 1 screen is B-on-W & the next is W-on-B (in the same app.) = very hard on my near-sighted eyes!!!! Is this the new THING in program'g?

Answer
I agree. Let's discuss why.

In the circles I run, all I hear about is "cost." Since it costs to add this, it's cut from the budget. It's not mandated by the Fed or Gov so they will cut it and lose a few sales.

I know that there are discussions about web incompatability with High Contrast Mode in Windows: but we should be well beyond discussions of compatability of desktop applications.

We're not past this.

Nope. If it adds cost and is only for high contrast mode then it's cut. The only time I found they pay for the testing and fixes is when it will affect sales. And it must be more than a per cent point or it's cut.

Brutal, but that's business.
