So order the CDs. Could be cheap and fast. See

Put the RH9 CD in and install it to the fedora 1 partition?

Just do it.

No one noted that method.

"any other method?"

A repeat question...

Why?

You can use the method Bob suggested to install any
Linux OS. I wonder why you want to replace Fedora Core
1(Red Hat 10) with Red Hat 9. I have both, as well as
Fedora Core 3(not very impressive). Seems like a step
backward. Although, you could have a situation like I do on the newer distros. I have to stay with Mandrake 10.0
until I can figure why FC3, Mandrake 10.1 and 10.2beta3 won't let me substitute older TCL and TK files necessary to make my printer work in Linux. Good luck. chuck

Too learn Linux?

It's not free and probably never will be! But, to migrate from Winders to Linux and learning. I would recommend using Xandros first, and second, Knoppix. Why Knoppix, because you can run it from a CD without loading it on the hard drive of your PC or laptop.
