The default association of an ISO with Nero will just let you create the needed CD just by doubleclicking on the ISO. Your post neglects to tell what you did.
As to the changing of the OS without booting the CD, I can truthfully answer I never tried such since the CD mehtod worked.
I need some help with burning ISO images and making the cd bootable. I have tried to do it with Nero (Ahead Software) under Win/XP, and Fedora ver1, with no luck. I don't do this that ofter, so I am a little rusty in the how do I do it department.
Can some one shed some light? Also, is there a way to just upgrade ver 1 to 2 without needing the bootable CD?
