Although I do not have an answer to your question, A simple Google Search of gst-register brings up quite a bit of information. I found that there was a bug report on this issue and did not research as to wheather it was fixed (completely) or not. From research I found that updating using yum or ? caused this problem to go away for some. Have you updated since you installed?
More information on you system may help others with your problem. Items like make/model of sound card may help.
