But at the office, we have a policy to unplug network connections that don't reply to pings. It's part of how we DHCP information, ping the address that might be handed out as a test. To keep it troublefree, all machines must respond to ping.
The firewall on my Fedora Core 2 install works fine, all ports are stealthed which is good. The only trouble is that the system responds when pinged. I've tried several post scanning services and get the same result each time.
I assume it is a system service causing this. Am I right? How do I stop my PC from responded to pings?
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
