I make a boot diskette, then use Nero to turn it into a bootable CD.
Something we do all the time since the office machines are not fitted with diskette drives. (One more thing to fix/maintain.)

hi there
I am trying to resuscitate a soyo 6ba +III motherboard . . . trying to do the hot flash on the BIOS chip but I cannot get the floppy drive to work.
bear in mind, this board came with a badly flashed BIOS chip so I put a BIOS chip on this board from another similar to-- but not quite identical in appearance - board, tho they both claim to be 6BA +III's. (one has 4 pci slots, one has 5)
I tried 2 power supplies, 2 cables, 2 floppy drives, but after the mem test I always get an FDC failure. Shall I give up? Is this a dead board, (i.e., bad floppy socket) or is there perhaps some other cause I have not thought of? thanks - fj
