That's what I got from the link gearup - no thankyou.
You are right about the reliability of what the F.B.I has to say. Their track record is highly questionable, so who are they to take a pot at rice.
The pot calling the kettle black if ever I have seen it. Sad

I feel the same way concerning "sign-in" links. But i am having no problem getting in without signing up!
However try this url which has almost the same content...it works for me without having to sign up for anything!

About getting the content without 'signing on' ...
Apr 10, 2004 9:57AM PDT

I was able to get to the article at the original link, but not by clicking the link. I tried going to the paper's home page and navigating to the article my selecting the 'News' section and then looking for the article. In this case it was fairly easy but in some cases it would be a real pain.

When I tried the direct link to the story I got the same sign-in page that others have mentioned.

Apparently that web site pays attention to the HTTP referrer or some such thing when it renders a page.

The article I found started off:
Miami FBI got no alert to Sept. 11, sources say

The Miami FBI office was told in directives from Washington to watch for information on al Qaeda, but nothing was relayed that could help agents find 9/11 hijackers in Florida.

BY ALFONSO CHARDY AND DAVID KIDWELL

Nothing in FBI directives described by national security advisor Condoleezza Rice in testimony Thursday would have led agents in the Miami field office to the 14 terrorist hijackers who were in Florida before they struck Sept. 11, 2001, said two senior law enforcers who were members of a federal antiterrorism task force at the time.

True...

?But given the reliability of our intelligence agencies who knows what the truth is? ?? Gearup

That is true but not surprising. Who do you think the intelligence is serving? The people or political interests?
