Hi perfectroll,
(I'm answering even though your user name does _not_ exactly inspire confidence - what the heck, I'll give anyone a shot from time to time). Sooo, hard to say fave. My first love was probably Galaxian - which I *think* one can find PC emulations of, even today, though I could be wrong. Another early coin-operated fave was something called QBert - you control a character who hops around on a semi-3d surface, each hop changing a surfaces colour, which gets quite hard as one goes along. That one may still exist as a free copy on the net - used to be several years ago. Another coin-op was Tempest - Microsoft had a circa 1990's "pack" of old arcade games that included that along with Asteroids, Missile Command and a few others I cannot recall right now.
The first semi-modern PC game I really got addicted to was Doom. Then Doom][ (2). Never liked Doom 3 that much though. I even made several (like 20 or so) Doom][ "mods" - Cathedrals, open-air layouts, all kinds of stuff. It was mostly for people I worked with at the time who were _also_ hooked on that game. :^)
Nowadays I like Mah-Jong or other tile matching games.
