FATAL EXCEPTION Error on my desktop

Helllllp! Windows 98 won't run.
When turning on computer, get a message as follows:
"A fatal exception 0D has occurredat 0028:FF022C68 in VXD acpi(0C) + 00003358. The current application will be terminated."

My computer is a desktop Hewlitt Packard with 258 mg RAM, running Windows 98.
