FAT 12 filesystem

What is the role of FAT 1?

What information can be found in the DOS Boot Record?

What is the role of the root directory and give an example how file slack could occur?

guys could you lot help me answer these questions.

I have tried my best searching the Internet but I found very limited resources. Thank you

Actually there is too much information on FAT12 out there.

My guess is that you are overwhelmed by all the documentation and need shorter answers.

This old FAT12 system was for older smaller drives and floppy discs. The information in the DOS boot record is documented so I won't duplicate that here. Tell what information you are looking for.

If this is for a class, reveal that too.

On my Windows 7 laptop, I can go to Start -> Help & Support and type FAT32 in the search box, and get 10 very informative results. Try it, you'll like it. Happy
