Faster way to delete.

I need to delete 100's of Gigabytes of info off of an external drive sometimes. But I cannot afford to do a quick format.

I opened a command prompt (start, run CMD) and used the old fashioned command line. Much faster!

If you have hundreds of GBs to delete, there really isn't a faster way to do it. Could you copy off the files you need to keep, format the external HD, then put the files back on the HD?
