Fast shooting digital cameras

I'm about to be a new mom and need a small digital camera that takes very fast shots so I don't miss all those cute baby moments. I'm not as concerned about quickness between shots as I am about the shuttter speed when I push the button. I want virtually no delay. Any suggestions? I want something small to keep in the diaper bag. Something under or around $300. Thanks!

Shutter Lag

The cameras with the least shutter lag are the Casio Z55 and Z57:

Plus they are ultra thin.
Easily fit into a shirt pocket.
Price is under $300
