I just remembered that I was overclocking the PC by putting more memory than the board could handle. So, since I don't have a stronger fan on hand to handle it, I just removed one of the memory chips and it's fine now. Sorry!!^_^
I recently had to replace the fan on my motherboard since it died out from old age. Ever since I replaced the fan for this PC(a pentium III 900 Mhz that I built in 2001)the system is not starting. I checked with the vendor to be sure this fan is compatible with pentium III 900 first. Also reseated cards on board and even tried a different hard drive. It started up only once successfully, but when I shut it down to screw the drive back in and put the PC back in it's place and turned it on, nothing. I can't even get BIOS on this thing. I took power and cables away from drives, floppy and cd-rom and tried it. nothing. I took all cards off the board and tried it. nothing. I am wondering if changing the fan has something to do with this because the machine was fine before then. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
