Fan problems on Toshiba SM30x-111 Satellite

Mar 24, 2005 3:06AM PST

Don't know if anyone can help, but I purchased this laptop a few months ago, and had problems with the fan coming on every couple of minutes (and it's quite noisy) I've had Apple and IBM laptops before and have not experienced this. I took it back to the dealer who exchanged it for a new one, and this one is exactly the same. I've messed around with the power setting and this doesn't seem to have made any difference. Does anyone know if this is normal or if there is a way to control the fan ? Any help gratefully received !!!!

Thanks
Ollie

The model number is one of a series so next time, share the model number I can see at Toshiba.com.

The desktop replacement models will have quite a bit more fan and noise. But I can't check that out.

While I can ask the question, when it doesn't show up then I can only wish you the best of luck. Laptops are not silent. Especially as we kick for the higher clock rates.
