Fan Noise - General Question

ASUS ZenBook UX433FA-A6076T 14 Inch Full HD 4-Way NanoEdge Screen (Intel i7-8565 Processor, 8 GB Memory, 512 GB

Hi all,

I just purchased the above model.

On the first day, using 3 /4 tabs of Google Chrome for general browsing activates the familiar click and then the fan. its a low noise but in a silent room is distracting.

I expected a silent (ish) laptop for the price (1K)

add spotify into the mix - the fan will defo start.

is this normal?

what levels of noise should I tolerate for such a decent speced model and low level activity?

there is a little heat noticeable with the above activity.

I am tempted to return it.

any advice appreciated!

many thanks

So far, few laptops run without fan activity.

And with many laptops using SSD the fan is now the thing you hear first. Even the Microsoft Surface has a fan so fanless would have to be some PC that you build that you designed to be fanless.

They normally run a little hot and I've never seen one where the fan didn't run.

Hope this helps.
