False error messages with AVG 8.

Oct 26, 2008 9:56PM PDT

Since I installed AVG 8 free edition, I have a problem. If I try to log in to a site, I receive a "Cannot find" message. This message usually talks about a URL that I did not ask for, false or unbelievable. Examples of these messages are:
Cannot find us.ird.yahoo,com, I do non know what is this and hence never asked for it,
Cannot find ukf279.mail.yahoo.com. This is assumed to be my email URL but it is wrong, Thee correct URL is uk.f254 and not 79,
Cannot find www. download.com, can you imagine?
These error messages appear quite often. In this case, I have to close the browser and open it again,
How can I stop these annoying messages without affecting the protection power of the program?
OS; Xp + SP2
Browser: IE 6
Thanks.

Link scanner was already disabled when these error messages appeared, that is why I asked for help. However, I tried to enable it and disable it again. Up till now, Thu
10 ? 28 ? 08, 19 GMT, I received no error signals. I hope this will be the end of this problem.
Thanks Proffitt.
