Fallujah Residents Outraged Over Wal-Mart Super Center Grand Opening

World News

A Shiite cleric known as il-Fahmed Shahmed, decided to come out and tell the truth why the residents of Fallujah are so outraged at the Americans. And it is not what you think it may be.
"We are so mad at the Americans," stated Mr. Shahmed, "Yes. We are very thankful that they came into our country and liberated us from that horrific person Saddam. We understand that we can now speak out because of that, whereas before, we would have been killed. But, nonetheless, we found out just last week that a Wal-Mart Supercenter is trying to come into our town. That is outrageous. It would kill all of our small businesses here in Fallujah. Yes. We do make little money here, but definitely more then what Wal-Mart pays. That is why you have this rebellion going on."
Wal-Mart representatives believe that bringing Wal-Mart into Iraq, and specifically, Fallujah, would civilize the country and bring "good quality low cost products" to the masses.
"Listen. It does not matter where you are from or where you live in this world." stated Johnston Lowpay, a VP with Wal-Mart, "Sometimes you just can't sleep and need somewhere to go. We are open 24 hours a day for your convenience. We offer great products at extremely low cost. We have a restaurant where you can go eat if you want. You can do your electronics shopping and grocery shopping all in the same place. What more do you want?"
Wal-Mart Super Centers are known for being very large, carrying everything from clothing to electronics, to household items, to groceries.
"We have everything they want or may need." stated a marketing VP at Wal-Mart, "In countries outside the U.S. we regionalize sections of Wal-Mart as well to make the residents feel more at home. For example, in Iraq, we will add a 'terrorist' section where they can purchase how to books, building materials and anti-American propaganda. People will love that. It's better organized and accessible 24 hours a day."
Other residents in Fallujah are ok with the idea of having a Wal-Mart Super Center in their town. "Wal-Mart is ok!" stated a Fallujah resident who wished to remain anonymous for safety reasons, "I like Wal-Mart and McDonalds very much! Bring here to Iraq. I want to get fat and shop at 3 in the morning just like Americans do. I like Americans very much."
Wal-Mart officials have been in contact with the White House to keep abreast of the situation in Fallujah. "We will stay the course," stated Wal-Mart CEO, Bill Reeleelowpay, "We will not be deterred by a few people not wanting us there. By June 30th, there will be a new government in Iraq and a Wal-Mart Super Center in Fallujah. They better get use to that idea."

Wal-Mart Super Center is schedule to be opened this June 30th;
the same day the new Iraqi government is scheduled to take control of the country.
