Fake SSA calls

I got one of these calls this morning on home phone. The number caller ID listed was 210-529-8362, so later I called it back from a burn phone. Sure enough, someone answered and claimed it was the Social Security Admin. So, immediately I said "Walmart? Isn't this Walmart?" and they laughed and said "no", voice was heavy hispanic accented.

I went to SSA site and reported it.

If you want some fun, give the number a call and pretend you are trying to reach Walmart. They'll start to think they have an old Walmart number, LOL. I had to call it twice before they answered, so they may be trying to quickly check the incoming number against ones they've called, or it's a one woman operation.

I also had a thought of them maybe trying to phish more SSA #'s to provide the "caravan" people with when they arrive to our border.
