Fake alert aftermath

Alright guys just a quick one this is doing my head in lol my laptop got a fake alert virus yesterday I ran malware bytes and this picked up the Trojan and removed it then all my files for pictures videos music etc were hidden so i unhid them and now it won't let me change my desktop wall paper it says access denied I've tried restoring the system to a previous date but the problem is still there anyone got any suggestions ??

What OS?

After such deep damage I find Microsoft's answer to the DAMAGED PROFILE to often be the next step.


In the future you may want to share what OS and how this fake was installed on your computer. So far I have over 10 incidents and in each case, the user installed the malicious thing.

My answer

I'm using windows 7 the way I got it was I was trying to find out wat engine was in ken blocks car I googled it which directed me to a forum which is then when I got it

Did you get redirected from the forum?
I've seen lots of thoose pages redirecting you from one page to a fake virus scan page saying you got virus.
If you got redirected the page might be looking something like the one I post with this reply.
